Viewer Reviews Not in the esteem in which he/she holds the film in question, but because of the fact that he/she has reviewed the wrong film altogether. The confusion has arisen because 'Sophie's Place' is an alternate title for a Telly Savalas film made in Britain in the '70s, which has no relation whatsoever to Larry Jordan's experimental feature of the same name from 1986 that was released on Facets Video. That film is (according to the back of the Facets Video box): 'The masterpiece of Larry Jordan's full, hand-painted cut-out animation and the result of five years of work...an "alchemical biography."...Filmmaker Stan Brakhage called Larry Jordan's SOPHIE'S PLACE "the greatest epic animation film ever..."'
