More intense than Kathy Ireland's other workouts, this 62-minute video aims to "take a giant leap" and get your body to an athletic performance level that lets you do the sports you enjoy. This workout for advanced exercisers is based on cross-training moves that athletes use for conditioning, including plyometrics: explosive jumping moves that add intensity. Onscreen exercisers with Ireland include her mother, who sometimes demonstrates modifications. A couple of problems may detract from your enjoyment of this video. Although music is playing, Ireland is off the beat more than she is on. When she cues "right" or "left," she invariably demonstrates the opposite (she is facing the viewer and should be cueing <I>our</I> directions, not her own). Get past these annoyances, and this workout will challenge you. It alternates aerobic sports-conditioning segments using moves like lunges, high-knee jogging, and "plyosquats" (jumping jacks that land in a wide-legged squat position) with upper-body strength segments using dumbbells. The aerobic segments are exactly the same each time and may not satisfy you if you like variety. <I>--Joan Price</I>

Like the other reviewers said, if this is for advanced exercisers, why does the instructor give so much beginner information on form? That would be my biggest gripe about this, that a lot of time is spent giving pointers that beginners can use but intermediates already know. Also, I think the faster tempo reps on the weight exercises are too fast. Instead of flailing my arms about trying to keep up, I do the reps at a slower, more controled pace. She does so many reps that even at a slower pace I get all the reps I need.

All the weight work is upper body. All the cardio is lower body. Not my style. I felt it worked my inner thighs/glutes but not much else.
