It was one of the best summer movies of the 80's. It includes some racial overtones, lovers delight, surfing action, as well as cultural stuff. I believe it was Tia Carrere's (True Lies, Wayne's World) 2nd movie, as the local girl. It was also the time when Hawaii became the 50th state and the natives were restless. :) <br />Enjoy it!
Viewer Reviews Just surfing around thru Amazon and found this title. Reminded me that I need to dig out my copy and watch again. A really great little film. Not Oscar-worthy, but just a nice little picture with some really deep ideas buried within it. I just wish someone would reissue this as a dvd.
