Viewer Reviews A wonderful monster movie with more than a sense of humor. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as Handymen Val and Earl. Rebba McIntyre and Michael Gross as survivalists -- "Broke into the wrong rec room, didn't ya!" Spawning several sequels and a tv series, the first remains the best. Perfection -- was there ever a town more misnamed -- falls prey to a new species of creature from beneath the earth. This film harkens back to the scifi monster flicks of the 1950's. It's a load of fun.
